Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford ended up talking about the possibility of them being hit by a cheating allegation today.

The TV presenters were discussing infidelity during a phone-in with viewers and Dr Pam Spurr on This Morning after it was alleged Zayn Malik had cheated on his fiancée Perrie Edwards before he quit boyband One Direction, something which he strenuously denies.

Dr Spurr told Eamonn and Ruth couples should put their energy into their relationships and try to do something nice for each other every day.

Ruth joked she'd picked up her husband's socks that morning and said humour was the only thing that was keeping them together.

Talking about the possibility of him one day playing away, Eamonn, 55, told her: "If there was any indiscretion, you would gladly have me back because you would be delighted every day to make my life a misery thereafter."

Ruth, 55, said he claimed he wouldn't bother coming back to which Eamonn spoke seriously, telling her: "[An affair] wouldn't be worth it, it really wouldn't."
